Valve adjustment Part 3: rotating the engine, measuring valve clearances, recording results, and mapping the installed shims.
I measure the Concours 1400 valve clearances and determine which shims will be needed for adjustment. I cover removing the crankshaft-position-sensor cover, rotating the engine into the correct positions, checking clearances with feeler gauges, recording the measurements, and mapping the installed shim sizes. I also explain how keeping a shim map makes future valve services easier.
