I begin the Concours 1400 valve-clearance service by preparing the cold engine and creating access to the cylinder head. I work through the surrounding fairing-area hardware, braces, wiring, hoses, brackets, and other components that have to be moved or removed before the valve cover can come off. I also share practical tips for organizing the disassembly and making enough room to work around the top of the engine.
