HERE'S WHAT OTHERS ARE
SAYING ABOUT THE GL1800 GOLD WING MAINTENANCE VIDEO by FRED HARMON

WOW!
I watched the video on installing the tapered bearings yesterday
afternoon. I'm impressed....very impressed! You guys are gonna love this
stuff. Fred has filmed this (at least what I've seen so far) in so much
detail and realism that it's hard to stop watching.
It's not at all like the how-to stuff you see on TV. On TV, they show you
the leaking faucet, tell you what to do, show it being done, and then the
faucet is fixed. Everything goes smoothly and works the first time. All of
the stuff they don't want you to see is edited out.
Not so with Fred's videos. He keeps the camera filming and it comes out
showing what we're likely to run into doing this ourselves. Fred
does most of the work holding the camera with one hand and doing the
procedure with the other hand. The mistakes, the tough parts, the
back-up-and-do-it-again parts. It's all there and very realistic.
Even if you're sure you're never going to do any of your own maintenance,
you ought to think again about getting these DVDs. I didn't expect it to
be this good and with this much attention to every little detail.
I can't say enough good things about it. You've got to see for yourself!
Fred, you did an absolutely fantastic job! I hope you make many times your
cost. They're worth every dollar.
Just got the video last night and am
totally impressed with the quality and the step by step instructions. I
wish that I had this addition to the Shop Manual when I bought my wing in
02.
You have done a tremendous job and I am sure that everybody who has
purchased one will agree.
Thanks Fred
Well now I don't have to worry about what
I will do this winter in Michigan when I can't ride, I can watch Fred work
on his motorcycle. My DVD's arrived today and I just finished watching the
first one. It is very impressive, informative, and just plain fun to
watch.
Hopefully, I will get a chance to meet Fred this weekend in Arkansas. It
will be interesting to see if he really has at least three arms. He must
have at least three, there is no other way he could have done all the
work, and held the camera without some extra hands.
FYI - The videos play just fine in my PC.
Well done Fred! Thank you!
I am most likely not the only one whose
SO looked at the pack of newly delivered CDs and wanted to know what porn
I was ordering. To convince her otherwise I put a disc in the player and
selected the blooper section. Thought that would be more interesting for
her. She chuckled a few times but when Fred wiped his finger prints off of
the refrigerator the SO stated "that is the best tip ever" and
said I had better pay attention to the rest of them.
Guess I am allowed to keep them. Thanks Fred!

Fred -
I just got mine yesterday. It was waiting for me when I got home last
night. I couldn't wait to dig into the videos. I loaded the first one up
on my vintage PC and it didn't run. I guess I'll have to look for some new
codex for the DVD. Anyhow I loaded the first one into my laptop and it ran
like a charm (Dell Latitude D800 w XP pro).
Anyway, I couldn't tear myself way from it. Excellent job, excellent
resource and very entertaining as well. I can see already that I'm going
to learn a great deal about the bike from your efforts.
This video is one resource that is a MUST HAVE if anyone plans on working
on their wing. This, along with the service manual will virtually enable
anyone with any wrenching experience to do just about anything on the
bike.
Again, may I commend you on the excellent job and you have my utmost
respect and a very deep-hearted thanks for this and all that you do in
helping not only me but everyone else out with your extensive knowledge
and expertise.

I have to admit I didnt expect much when
I ordered it. Man talk about detail. I've only watched a little but no
question about it , the DVD is a bargain imo. Im very pleased!!
Hi All,
Talk about good tips...I looked at video number One and am totally
impressed. The worth of Fred's work far exceeds the price of admission.
"Hat's off" to Fred as he has performed a real service to the
'World of Wing' with this endeavor, only to be outdone by Honda Soichiro
himself.
Tip for the Day - Buy the Video Set if you haven't already done so before
they're are all gone.
Thanks Fred for your Effort...I'm a happy camper!
Regards,

'specially like the warning "Don't
try this at home"
Broken Wooden punches, crazy welded tool contraptions, chucking bushings
across the garage because he put the original bushing back in by accident,
plumbing fixtures to push out wheel bearings and `oops' I hope the
steering head bearing didn't fall into the bowels of the engine. The short
while he contemplates that the only thing holding his bike up was his
jack!
I almost got dizzy with the bloopers, almost cried when I thought his bike
fell over, was relieved it was the camera and the tripod instead ...
I laughed, I cried, it has all the drama of a great film!
And thanks to you Fred, for helping us.
Your work will not go unnoticed or unrewarded. I can't wait to get the
videos and watch them. I have been wondering what I was going to do on
cold winter nights here in Michigan. Now I know, I'll watch Fred's
GoldWing repair videos.
I'm sure my wife till understand, ... won't she.
Thanks again.
By the way what is your next project. LOL
I also posted this note on the other board but wanted to thank Fred twice
for his hard work bringing this all together for us.

Well, I finally found sometime Saturday
afternoon to view Freds works of art. I was only going to take a few
minutes and watch the ALL BALLS STEM BEARING REPLACEMENT, this was about
2:00pm in the afternoon. At 04:00 on Sunday morning I figured it was
finally time to go to bed.
Great job Fred. Just doing one of these service procedures on the video
more than justifies the purchase price. My first project is going to be
the fork fluid change. I was wondering if Dextron transmission fluid could
be used in place of Honda fork oil? What are the Pros and Cons.
Wear shoes next time. The OSHA Police may be watching.

Just received my copy Saturday and had
only enough time to watch the intoduction. Even though I am an expert
mechanic, I figured it couldn't hurt to have more than just the Honda
manual. If it will reduce frustration and aggravation for even 5 minutes,
the videos will be worth it.
Hey Fred, how many copies have you sold so far? You look much younger than
I had expected, but the camera does add 5 lbs to you (LOL)!
Found Fred's DVD's on my doorstep when I
arrived home last night....fixed dinneer and sat down for an entertaining
evening with Fred!
Darn I even missed CSI Miami....I even tried to get the Mrs to sit with me
but for some reason she left me all alone last night
What a great job and I already picked up a bunch of tips! It really helps
to watch someone do these things step by step.
Worth every penny of the cost.
Thanks for doing such a great job Fred!
It's a tough call between Fred Harmon's Goldwing Video and Girls Gone Wild
I very seldom post about anything, but
Freds DVDs are great. I like doing my own wrenching and after watching
just about five hrs of them I have the confidence to go into places that I
was hesitant to go before. Thanks Fred, oh by the way, you must be related
to my wife the way you use your bare feet for handing some of your parts.

I watched the first 3 DVD's and they are
excellent If you can't learn any thing from them I think you should just
stick to putting gas in your wing.

I started watching this afternoon and
before I knew it - it was 8PM-
Great job Fred- You should be proud to have helped so many-
Money well spent!!!
I was a holdout on ordering your DVD's.
Finally called and checked if any left about last Wednesday and ordered a
set then. Received them today and started watching about 11am and finally
quit just a few minutes ago. Eight hours plus. A lot of the info on the
rear don't apply as I have trike, but the rest is worth it in itself. I
still haven't watched everything that I can use on my trike. I have been
very leary about attempting those things, but am ready to go for it now.
Very informative. Thanks so much
Since i just had new tapered all balls
bearings installed at the dealer, i was curious to watch fred's video
about this, what a nightmarish looking job. Appears to me a triple bypass
would be an easier undertaking, lol. i watched Fred about 4 hours last
night, very nice work, amazing what he can do with one hand. Other hand
running video camera. He does more with one hand than i can with 2 hands.
Don't forget about his feet. lol The
first time I saw a big toe in the picture, I started laughing so hard I
had to rewatch the procedure. I'm saving the bloopers for last.
I guess what I liked most about the work he covers is the fact he uses
common tools in an average garage. Certainly removes the mystery from
maintaining the gl1800. Well done, Fred.
Received my videos today and popped one
into my laptop at work. Well, I haven't been very productive today at
work... but the bike will get alot of new accessory installs this weekend.
I watched the Shelter/Inst.Panel remove and install. (almost 2 hours)
OUTSTANDING FRED! I feel so much better about tackling this now. And by
the background audio, either Fred lives in a rattlesnake den... or he had
the lawn sprinklers on.
These videos will definitely help alot of new wingers (like me) save money
by doing projects and maintenance on their own.... despite the disclaimer
at the beginning of each video. Thanks again Fred, for putting this
together. Great job.
I'll second it! Got them today very nice
package product and was able to watch about an hour of the first disc.
From what I seen you have done a great service for the average weekend
wrencher. Looking forward to veiwing the rest for any insight it may
offer.
BTW: Been thinking about the Windbender too. Just one question at this
point would you buy it again?

Hey WingerBob04,
Believe me, you want to watch these videos on a big screen TV where you
can lay on the couch and enjoy the heck out 'em. Yesterday (Monday) was my
day off and I watched DVDs for 9 straight hours! I couldn't believe how
much time had passed the few times I looked at the clock.
OK, some of you might be thinking that I'm exaggerating the quality and
the amount of information in these videos. But you never would have
convinced me before ordering that this is what they would be like. I know
what I was expecting...and this isn't it!
I don't know Fred from my next door neighbor but I would recognize
him walking down the street now. I am so much in awe of what he has done
and in his abilities and willingness to do this for us. I can't help but
believe that each of you who has ordered the DVDs will have the same
reaction.
Fred, sorry if I'm embarrassing you, but you deserve more credit for this
than can ever be expressed by one person.

Fred, in your review of the tools you carry you point out the tire plug
materials you carry. Does one of the videos contain a section on plugging
a tire? This is one that would be good to watch before heading out this
weekend.

Thanks so much for putting in so much
effort in producing a wonderful set of "Entertainment Only"
maintenance disks. I am enjoying every minute of them. Will be starting my
32,000 mile maintenance soon and will be using your video as an
entertaining backdrop to my shop.
PS love your dog

FRED -- I'd also like to thank you for
all the great tips and advice you've put up on your website for Wing
owners. What a great service you provide (and at no cost!). I've saved
myself much frustration, work hours and $$ in using your directions on a
few issues with my GL1800. I'm not especially mechanically inclined, but I
felt brave enough to try a few things because of your helpful and clear
instructions. Thanks so much.
